About About SMACNA
The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association of Southern Nevada (SMACNA) represents signatory HVAC contractors throughout southern Nevada. Our professional trade association represents, promotes and advances the interests of the sheet metal and HVAC industry and offers its member companies a robust platform of labor relations, government affairs, public relations and networking as well as safety and training initiatives.
Incorporated in 1965, SMACNA of Southern Nevada became a chartered chapter to the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA National) in 1966. SMACNA National provides codes, standards and technical specifications used throughout the country providing safety and well-being to contractors, sheet metal workers and the public. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has accredited SMACNA as a standards-setting organization. SMACNA National standards and manuals address all facets of the sheet metal industry, from duct construction and air pollution control to energy recovery and roofing. These voluntary technical standards and manuals developed by SMACNA National are accepted worldwide by the construction community and foreign government agencies.
Our contractors perform work in industrial, light commercial, commercial, institutional and residential markets. They specialize in heating, ventilating and air conditioning; architectural sheet metal; industrial sheet metal; kitchen equipment; specialty stainless steel work, manufacturing, siding and decking, testing and balancing, service, and energy management and maintenance.
We are primarily involved in labor relations activities on behalf of our members with Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation International Association Local Union 88 (SMART Local 88) with the goal and objective of providing stability and progress to the sheet metal and HVAC industry, giving our members a sharp edge over their non-union competition.
